LEFILTER coalescing filter separators consist of a vessel, filter cartridge, blade unit and cyclone separator to achieve the required solids and liquid removal efficiency. Accessories may vary depending on the application.

In industrial applications, LEFILTER coalescing filter separators are designed and manufactured to separate two fluids of different phases (liquid or gas) from each other. They can also be used as a method of filtering particulate matter.

According to the different separation media, coalescing filter separators are divided into liquid-gas separation and liquid-liquid separation. Liquid gas coalescing filters remove solid particles, aerosols and small droplets from gases. Liquid-liquid filtration separators are used to separate trace dispersed phases from another liquid phase, such as dehydration from oil.

Coalescing filter separators primarily remove water and oil contaminants present in gases or liquids.
The remaining water remaining after a gas or liquid has fully dissolved water. Discrete water floating in a fluid. It occurs due to condensation or other uses of water in the system.
Oil can get into water through different methods. Oil contaminates process fluids in different forms: including free, dissolved, dispersed, molecularly dissolved, chemically emulsified, and oil-coated suspended solids.

Coalescence separation and filtration technology can be used for oil-water separation and gas-liquid separation in the chemical industry. Coalescing filter elements are commonly used to remove droplets below 1 μm. It is mainly used to separate droplets with a particle size of 0.1~1μm, and is often used downstream of blade separators, mist collectors, and filter separators.

The coalescing separation filter has a wide range of uses and is mainly suitable for filtration and filtering of fuel, gasoline, diesel, petroleum coke, liquefied petroleum gas, turbine oil, hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, cyclohexane, isopropyl alcohol, cyclohexanol and other media. Separation etc.

When a liquid-gas mixture or an oil-water mixture flows radially through multiple layers of filter material from inside the filter element, the pore size gradually increases. Small droplets collide with the filter fiber and gradually aggregate into larger droplets under the combined effects of inertia, diffusion and interception. Due to the effect of gravity, the accumulated large droplets settle in the drainage layer outside the filter element and sink to the bottom of the container. Relying on the good hydrophilic and oleophobic properties of the separation filter element, water can be further separated to obtain the final pure product.

Coalescing filters are used to filter tiny solid particles. Small droplets aggregate into large droplets and are separated by coalescing layers. The separation filter element further separates oil and water to obtain the final product. Filtration efficiency can be improved by increasing the filter layer thickness and packing density of the coalescer filter element. By rationally designing the appropriate number ratio of coalescer and separator filter elements, the filtration speed can be increased.

How to maintain and maintain a coalescing filter separator?
Be sure to manually empty drains daily to avoid any system shutdowns. Although automatic drains are less laborious to use, they can malfunction and cause the process application to stop.
Monitor the differential pressure gauge regularly and monitor readings daily.
Once a pressure drop signal appears, replace the coalescer element immediately.
Each time you replace the filter element, use the recommended solution to clean the housing and the skimmer element in the process.

When using a PTFE-coated screen separation filter, be sure to maintain it as follows:
●Every time you replace the coalescing filter, inspect the separator element for damage, test and clean according to the manufacturer’s recommendations
●Hold the filter element at an angle and pour water onto a surface no more than three inches from the surface of the skimmer.
Make sure it beads up and rolls off the surface to ensure the filter is working properly.
●After cleaning, avoid exposing the surface of the separator filter element.
